About the HGLC
Mission Statement:
The Harvard Gay & Lesbian Caucus maintains a network of alumni/ae, faculty
and staff of Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges and the Harvard Graduate and
Professional Schools in order to develop, nurture and defend Harvard's
lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. The Caucus and its local
chapters in several cities seek to develop a sense of community among
Harvard and Radcliffe lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders through
social events, a newsletter, and a directory; press for a
non-discriminatory and diverse working, living and academic environment at
Harvard; sponsor educational and cultural programs for members, students
and others; undertake service projects for Harvard and the larger
community; and encourage informal coordination among lesbian, gay,
bisexual, and transgender student groups. Membership is open to all
Harvard and Radcliffe alumni/ae, faculty and staff who support our
mission, and non-voting associate membership is available to students and
other friends. Harvard Gay & Lesbian Caucus, Inc., is a non-profit
organization supported primarily by membership dues. HGLC is an independent organization that
does not represent the President and Fellows of Harvard College (Harvard University) or the
Harvard Alumni Association.
